RETURN · RECOVER · REBUILD — A seven-day beginning with MORE Souls
Scripture excerpt — 1 John 1:9 (KJV): “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,”
Read 1 John 1:5–2:2 — King James Version
Reflection
Hiding a wrong can become exhausting. We spend energy defending it, renaming it, or hoping no one will ask the difficult question.
John calls believers to walk in the light. Confession means acknowledging our sin before God rather than pretending it is absent. The promise of forgiveness rests on His faithfulness and justice; the wider passage points to Jesus Christ.
Receiving forgiveness can open the way to responsible action. An apology may be needed. Money may need returning. A pattern may require accountability and support.
You can bring the truth to God today. Let grace move you toward repentance and the practical work of making things right where that is possible.
Consider
What have you been explaining away that you need to confess?
A step for today
Name the wrong honestly before God. Identify one responsible repair and, where needed, ask a trusted mature Christian for support.
Prayer
Merciful Father, I confess my sin and need Your forgiveness. Help me turn from what is wrong, receive Your mercy, and make responsible changes. Amen.
