RETURN · RECOVER · REBUILD — A seven-day beginning with MORE Souls
Scripture excerpt — John 15:5 (KJV): “I am the vine, ye are the branches:”
Read John 15:1–12 — King James Version
Reflection
A phone can look perfect and still be unable to make a call when it has lost its connection. In a different and deeper way, Jesus teaches His disciples that fruitful life depends on remaining in Him.
The vine and branches belong together. In this passage, Jesus connects abiding with His words, prayer, obedience, and love. Christian growth draws its life from a relationship with Him.
A busy day can crowd that relationship to the edges. We may speak about God while leaving little room to listen, pray, or practise what He teaches.
Begin with attention rather than a performance. Open the passage. Bring one concern to Jesus. Notice one command you can obey. Return to Him throughout the day.
Consider
What usually crowds your time with God out of the day?
A step for today
Set aside ten minutes for Scripture and prayer. Choose one brief moment later today to pause and return your attention to Christ.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, teach me to remain in You. Let Your words shape my thinking and Your love shape the way I treat people. Amen.
